© OpenStreetMap contributors. The basemap under every map on this site — coastlines, borders, roads, airports, runways and taxiways — is made from OpenStreetMap data, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Our map tiles are a Produced Work under that licence.
© ESA WorldCover project 2020 / Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2020) processed by ESA WorldCover consortium. The land-cover shading the Dark and Light basemaps draw at world and continent zooms comes from ESA WorldCover, under CC BY 4.0.
The basemap tiles are a Protomaps basemap build, kept on our own storage, and the five basemap looks are Protomaps’ styles. The visual design of the Protomaps basemap styles was created by Geraldine Sarmiento for Protomaps LLC and released under a Creative Commons 0 (CC0) licence. The place names are set in the Noto Sans fonts (Regular, Medium, Italic and Devanagari; © 2022 The Noto Project Authors), under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, and the small map icons are derived from Mapzen’s tangrams icons (© 2017 Mapzen), under the MIT licence. Both come from Protomaps’ basemaps-assets and are kept on our own storage with their licences beside them: the font licence and the icon licence.
© Mapterhorn. The hillshade, the 3D terrain and the elevation readout come from Mapterhorn’s terrain tiles (release v0.0.13), copied to our own storage: the world to zoom 9 and Europe to zoom 12. Mapterhorn builds them from many national and international elevation datasets. Some of those licences ask for the source to be named where the data is used, so every one of them is listed here, with its licence, from the list we keep with the tiles.
The list of terrain sources is kept with the terrain tiles and could not be loaded just now. Mapterhorn publishes the same list at mapterhorn.com/attribution.
Airport reference data: OurAirports. The airports on our maps — their names, codes, positions, elevations and sizes — come from Slavic Airlines’ own airport files, which draw on OurAirports’ open airport data.
Radar: NOAA/NWS. The radar layer covers the United States only. It is the National Weather Service’s composite reflectivity mosaic, drawn from NOAA’s public map service (opengeo.ncep.noaa.gov) as it is published, with the time of the frame and its age shown on the map. Information from the National Weather Service is in the public domain (NWS disclaimer).
METAR, TAF and SIGMET: NOAA/NWS Aviation Weather Center. The weather dots inside the airport rings, the hazard areas and the airport reports come from the Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov), fetched by our own server. The METAR and TAF text and the SIGMET areas are shown as issued. The colour of each dot is our own reading of that METAR's ceiling and visibility, by the US flight-category rules.

Infrared satellite imagery. The cloud picture over Europe, Africa and the Indian Ocean is based on EUMETSAT Meteosat data (2026), drawn from EUMETSAT's EUMETView service; frames are shown at least one hour after the time of observation. The cloud picture over the Americas, the Pacific and East Asia comes from NASA's Global Imagery Browse Services: GOES-East and GOES-West (NOAA/NESDIS) and Himawari (Japan Meteorological Agency). We acknowledge the use of imagery provided by services from NASA's Global Imagery Browse Services (GIBS), part of NASA's Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS). None of it is an official briefing, and nothing on this site is for real-world navigation.
The synoptic chart (isobars, pressure centres, fronts and winds aloft) and the aeronautical chart are not on the site yet. Each is credited here, in the words its source asks for, in the release that adds it.
